The main objective of the workshop was to review the outcome of the Copenhagen Summit and to provide analytical support to the participants who were headed for the Beijing Conference that took place in September 1995. The workshop focused on five themes, viz. economic and social development; development and productive employment patterns; progress in poverty eradication; and social, economic and institutional issues. The present volume contained the background papers presented by distinguished experts at the above said international workshop. |
