Dr. Sabyasachi Saha is Assistant Professor at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) since May 2014. He had joined RIS as a full time Consultant in March 2013. He obtained his PhD in Economics (2013) from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi at the Centre for International Trade and Development. His academic qualifications include M.A. in Economics (2007) and M.Phil. in International Trade and Development (2009) from the same centre/institution. His research interest spans across areas of development and trade primarily focused on technology, industrial policy, multilateral trading systems and international development.
He has published his research in academic journals, working paper series, edited volumes, research reports and as policy briefs. He has participated in prestigious academic conferences and high level policy dialogues in India and abroad. Previously, he has worked with premier academic institutions and think tanks in India as senior research staff. As a young scholar he received the WIPO Prize, DAAD funded junior fellowship for research in Germany, and Government of India Travel Grant. He was also selected for internship at the Planning Commission (now NITI Aayog), Government of India.
