| It is widely recognized that India’s partnership with Brazil and South Africa within the framework of India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Trilateral Dialogue could be of immense economic and strategic value in view of the dynamism and complementary strengths of these economies. RIS is currently undertaking a study on the Potential for Economic Partnership in IBSA at the request of the Ministry of Commerce. In order to brainstorm on the potential of the IBSA Partnership, RIS organized a Seminar on the Potential of Economic Cooperation in IBSA on Thrusday, 24 March 2005. At the Seminar, presentation made by Professor Fabio Villares De Oliveira, Institute of International Economic Studies (IEEI), Sao Paulo, Brazil besides a presentation of the ongoing RIS Study on the subject by Prof. K.J. Joseph, Visiting Senior Fellow, RIS. Smt.
Suryakanthi Tripathi, Additional Secretary (ER), Ministry of External
Affairs, Govt. of India chaired the Seminar.
