SESSION 5: RESPONSES TO CONCERNS RAISED BY DEVELOPING COUNTRIES IN THE CASE STUDIES.

  Selected participants from national regulators and international NGOs will be asked to discuss how they responded to concerns raised by developing countries,and participants from developing countries will discuss what differences these responses have made to their ability to export or meet the new environmental requirements,or both. Responses have included:
  providing technical or market information;
  providing training;
  providing financial or in-kind assistance;
  providing longer phase-in periods;
  revising or adapting the measure.
