Seminar on WTO: Agriculture and Intellectual
Property Rights

RIS and Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID), Chandigarh, organized a joint "Workshop on WTO: Agriculture and Intellectual Property Rights" in Chandigarh on May 30, 2003.

RIS Vice-Chairman, Ambassdor S.T. Devare, Vice-Chairman, RIS inaugurated the Workshop. From RIS side two presentations were made: (1) By Shri S.K. Mohanty, Fellow, on Implications of WTO Agreement on Agriculture for South Asian, and (2) by Dr. Sachin Chaturvedi, Fellow, on Intellectual Property Rights: Plant Variety Proection and Biodiversity Issues.

The presentations were followed by discussions on the issues raised. A large number of audience from government, academic, research institutions, and media circles, attended and participated in the discussion at the workshop.
