This Workshop was
organized as part of the research project on Globalization and International Governance of
Modern Biotechnology being undertaken by RIS. The Workshop deliberated on issues like
potential of biotechnology to provide lasting solutions to many of the difficult problems
that countries across the development spectrum encounter at present; risks associated with
large scale use of biotechnology particularly in agriculture sector; ability of
intellectual property regimes in different countries to provide effective protection to
biotechnological inventions; etc. |
