Dr. Rahul Ranjan
Dr. Rahul Ranjan is Consultant at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi since February 2022. He completed his M.Phil (2015) and Ph.D. (2020) in Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. For his doctoral degree he worked on a thesis titled “Cooking Energy Consumption and Women’s Health in Rural India”. Prior to joining RIS, he worked as a Consultant at Office of Economic Adviser (OEA), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) since December 2020 to February 2022. He also worked as a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Human Development (IHD), New Delhi from July 2019 to November 2020.
His areas of research interest include Trade in Energy, Indian Labour Market, Health, Poverty, Education, and Industry. He is skilled in tackling both primary and secondary (Unit level data of NSS, ASI, PLFS, NFHS and IHDS) data. He is also seasoned in the use of STATA and CsPro. He has had an opportunity to present research papers at various national and international conferences as well as publish several papers indexed in ABDC and SCOPUS.
At RIS he is working in G20 division under energy vertical, focusing on Trade in Energy.
