    Ms. Deeksha Gupta
    Research Assistant

    Ms. Deeksha Gupta is a Research Assistant at the Center for Maritime Economy and Connectivity (CMEC) at RIS. Her work focuses on India's Maritime sector - trade, insurance, freight, technology and connectivity. She also contributes to policy research on the labor workforce of the Maritime sector, particularly in the context of geoeconomics and geopolitical shocks. She is also associated with the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), where she contributes to policy and ministerial work by preparing country briefs, drafting talking points and remarks, supporting stakeholder engagements, and assisting in day-to-day ministerial activities. She has co-authored a discussion paper on Protection & Indemnity Insurance for India (CMEC-RIS, 2026), an opinion article on India's Rare-Earth Strategy (The Policy Edge, 2026), and a book chapter on maritime workforce transitions in the India Maritime Review (2025). She holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from O. P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat.
