Call for Applications for Adviser (Digital Solutions) (Equivalent to the post of Associate Professor)

Applications are invited from interested candidates for the position of Adviser (Digital Solutions) of DAKSHIN (The Global South Centre of Excellence) at the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi.

Positions: One

Tenure: One year contract, renewable on satisfactory performance

Compensation: Equivalent to the post of Associate Professor

Eligibility: The candidate should have domain expertise in the Digitalisation and Information Technology sector, including familiarity with various Indian schemes and programmes in the sector. Candidates with a Masters in Technology, Information Technology, Digitalisation and Automation, Digitalisation and Innovation, Digital Humanities or equivalent would get a preference. Candidates with additional qualifications such as Masters in Economics/International Relation/Development Economics/Public Policy or related field with at least ten years of experience in the political economy of digitalisation and/or financial inclusion sector may also apply.

Job Description:

  • As head of the digital solutions vertical of the Centre, the candidate will energise the work programme in the sector
  • Conduct research on the developments in the sector with a view to identify potential for south-south cooperation
  • Coordinate with agencies of countries in the Global South, explore their requirement for south-south cooperation and explain the institutional framework that led to the success of the Indian schemes and programmes
  • Design development cooperation initiatives and connect the Indian implementing agencies with the corresponding agencies of the Global South
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders, review briefs, concept notes, reports and publications, training and capacity building initiatives etc.

i)       The engagement is purely contractual and does not confer any right to regular appointment.

ii)      RIS reserves the right to cancel/withdraw the recruitment  at any stage without assigning any reason.

v)      Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview/selection process.

vi)     Mere fulfilment of eligibility conditions does not guarantee short-listing.

vii)    No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview unless otherwise specified.

viii)   The decision of RIS  in this regard shall be final and binding.
