Dr. Shishir Shrotriya is the Head of Centre for Maritime Economy and Connectivity (CMEC) at RIS.
Dr. Shishir Shrotriya is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi), from where completed MTech and PhD. He specializes in Maritime Technology, Strategy and Management, and has steered, India’s indigenisation initiatives for Marine and Naval systems. Cmde (Dr.) Shishir Shrotriya, has also served as the Head of Faculty at the Indian Naval Academy, Kerala. He has also been instrumental in establishing a CoE for undertaking Techno-Strategic studies at CUSAT, Kochi. One of the key tasks undertaken by Dr. Shrotriya includes integration of the small and medium enterprises, towards undertaking strategic projects. He has also served as Counsellor (Science & Technology) at the Embassy of India, Moscow (2019-2022).Dr. Shrotriya has recently edited a book titled, ‘Waste to Wealth - Resource recovery and value-added products for Sustainable Development’, published (2024) by the Taylor & Francis group.
Dr. Shrotriya is also an invited member of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp (VIBHAS) and Neel-Arth vision implementation (NAVIC) cells, steering the maritime visions (MIV-2030 & MAKV-2047) with stakeholders under the Ministry of Ports Shipping & Waterways (MoPS&W), forging national / international partnerships.
